Jacob R. Caylor, MD

DABA, DABPM

Dr. Jake Caylor is a fellowship-trained, double board-certified interventional pain physician and Diplomate of both the American Board of Pain Medicine and American Board of Anesthesiology. Along with his undergraduate studies and research, Dr. Caylor completed medical school at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, WA where he graduated with honors and was awarded Alpha Omega Alpha recognition. Subsequently, he moved to La Jolla, CA where he underwent his Anesthesiology training at UC San Diego. During his training, he received multiple accolades, was named Chief Resident for 2 years, and became Board Certified in Anesthesiology. He stayed at the top-ranked UC San Diego Interventional Pain Fellowship where he studied minimally invasive spine therapies, cancer pain and completed his research in Spinal Cord Stimulation and sex-based differences in pain pathways.

Throughout his years of medical school, training and career, Dr. Caylor has taken every opportunity to advance the field of Interventional Pain Medicine, lecturing at CME events across the Pacific Northwest and publishing his work in nationally recognized peer-reviewed journals. By evaluating the patient history, physical examination, and imaging studies, Dr. Caylor provides expert diagnosis and offers personalized, evidence-based approach to treating pain conditions. He looks forward to continuing this personal approach to pain care in North Austin.

Dr. Caylor specializes in advanced interventional pain therapies, including spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, intrathecal drug delivery, balloon kyphoplasty, posterior arthrodesis with interlaminar fixation and demineralized bone matrix as well as minimally invasive Sacroiliac joint fusion.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Caylor enjoys spending time with his wife and young son. On the weekends you might find them playing in the park, enjoying a round of golf or learning to swim at the local pool. His passion for learning new skills and innovation makes him an asset to the growing team of experts at Pain Specialists of America.
