
Tan Charles is a board-certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience caring for patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Arlington and has dedicated her career to providing compassionate, evidence-based care across inpatient, procedural, and outpatient settings.
Prior to joining Pain Specialists of America, Tan practiced in neurosurgery, where she cared for patients with spine disorders, chronic pain conditions, traumatic brain injuries, stroke, and other neurological disorders. Her clinical experience includes patient evaluation, treatment planning, perioperative management, and long-term care coordination for individuals with complex medical needs.
Tan’s passion for pain management grew from seeing firsthand how chronic pain affects every aspect of a person’s life. She is committed to helping patients improve their function, regain their quality of life, and return to the activities they enjoy most through individualized, patient-centered treatment plans.
Known for her compassionate approach and dedication to patient education, Tan strives to ensure every patient feels heard, respected, and empowered throughout their healthcare journey.
Outside of work, Tan enjoys playing tennis and pickleball, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys keeping up with her energetic Aussiedoodle, Taz, who keeps life entertaining both on and off the court.
