Queen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and is scheduled to complete her Doctor of Nursing Practice in December 2026. She is dual board certified in adult-gerontology acute care and adult cardiac medicine. Her psychology background shapes how she treats acute and chronic pain alike: as a condition that reaches into a person's work, sleep, and relationships, not only their body. She approaches care as a partnership, learning what pain has cost each patient and what they most want to reclaim, then building the treatment plan with them rather than for them.
Queen is a recipient of multiple DAISY Awards, a national honor nominated by patients and families for extraordinary compassionate care. She is a member of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, the American Nurses Association, the National Association for Healthcare Quality, and Sigma Theta Tau, the international honor society of nursing.
Her doctoral work redesigned how a transplant program monitors immunosuppressant medication levels, delivering more accurate results, fewer repeat blood draws, and faster, safer decisions at the bedside. She is excited to bring that same passion and drive for excellence to the team at Pain Specialists of America.
Queen lives in the Austin area with her husband and their two children. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, running, lifting, reading, and exploring Austin's food scene.
